We remove concrete, gunite, fiberglass, and vinyl liner in-ground pools. Most of our pool demolition work is residential, and commercial pool removal is quoted after a site inspection.
Partial Pool Removal
The crew breaks down the upper section of the pool shell, perforates the floor for drainage, and backfills the cavity in compacted lifts. The lower shell stays underground. This option is also called pool fill-in or pool abandonment in place.
Partial pool removal suits homeowners who want usable yard space for lawn, patio, or landscaping and do not plan to build over the former pool site.
Full Pool Removal
Full pool removal takes out the entire pool shell, steel, plumbing, and decking, then backfills the excavation in compacted lifts.
Building over the site, for example an ADU or addition, generally calls for full pool removal with compacted backfill, and a compaction test when the building department requires one. Your building department has the final say.

How We
Remove a Pool
Most pool demolition projects take two to five days on site. Permits, access, weather, and scope can affect scheduling.

The team reviews pool construction, equipment access, and your future plans for the site. Demo Patrol recommends partial or full removal and provides a written quote.
Coordinate Permits and Utility Disconnects
Demo Patrol handles the demolition permit and confirms each utility disconnect before excavation begins. Water, gas, and electrical lines serving the pool are disconnected and pool equipment is removed.
Drain, Demolish, and Haul Away Debris
The crew drains the pool, breaks up the shell and decking, and hauls debris from the property. A mini excavator and a skid steer with a hydraulic breaker handle the demolition. On a full removal, the pool deck, coping, and skimmer come out with the shell. Concrete goes to a recycling yard rather than a landfill. Debris disposal is included in the quote.
Backfill, Compact, and Grade
Clean fill is placed in compacted lifts. The crew shapes the final grade, applies topsoil, and completes the included jobsite cleanup. The site restoration leaves the area ready for lawn, landscaping, a patio, or new construction.
