About 3–4 weeks from initial call to clean lot. Permits take 1–3 weeks depending on jurisdiction. The actual demolition of a 1,500-square-foot house takes one day. Larger or more complex structures (multi-story, heavy concrete, tight access) may take two to three days. We run a 4-week lead time for most residential projects.

Yes. California requires a demolition permit for residential structure removal. Homes built before 1980 also need an asbestos survey and NESHAP notification through your local air quality management district. We handle the entire permitting process. Application, compliance documentation, inspections. And deliver every approval to you in writing.

It is rarer than most people expect. Roughly 1 in 20 older Chico-area homes we assess test positive. California law still requires a certified asbestos survey before demolition on any pre-1980 structure. If the survey comes back positive, a licensed abatement contractor handles removal before we begin. We coordinate the survey, abatement, and all air district notifications.

We sort on site and haul to local recycling and waste facilities. Concrete goes to recyclers where it is crushed and resold. Metal is processed at scrap yards. Wood, roofing, and drywall go to appropriate facilities. Over 70% of materials get recycled on most jobs. Every load is tracked with dump receipts.

Yes, unless you want to keep it for a rebuild. Many customers want us to clear the entire lot but leave utilities in place for new construction. Full foundation removal (slab, footings, piers, stem walls), excavation, concrete breaking, backfilling, and grading are all included as options in our quote.

Yes. We save items for customers regularly. We have pulled 90-year-old wooden beams out of a demolition and shipped them to a customer in Tahoe. If something in your home has value (vintage hardwood, structural timber, architectural features), tell us before the tear down and we will work with you to salvage it.
